From the novel that holds a special place in the heart of American literature, comes a new musical that proves this timeless story is still relevant, funny, and heartbreaking today. Based on Louisa May Alcott’s life, Little Women, the Broadway Musical follows the adventures of sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested – her friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.

Produced nationally and internationally, Little Women has been praised by critics for its ambition in adapting such a well-known story for the stage. This timeless, captivating story is brought to life in a glorious musical exploring personal discovery, heartache, hope, and everlasting love, giving the audience a theatrical experience filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit. You will not want to miss this terrific theatrical treat for the holidays, perfect for the entire family.

Opened in 2017 and nestled in the rural Northeast Kingdom town of Greensboro, the Highland Center for the Arts features a 250 seat state-of-the-art performance theatre in-the-round. It is modeled after Shakespeare’s Globe Theater in London, but on a smaller scale. It features LED theatrical lighting, cutting edge sound systems and acoustics. Community Circle has secured very comfortable premier seating for this musical. Prior to the 2:00 matinee, our group will enjoy a cocoa and Christmas cookie reception at 1:00. Special pricing for this event is $14.00 and seating is limited. For members wishing to carpool with us or follow us, we will depart Community National Bank in Derby at noon. Call us to reserve your seats, 802-334-7915. Payment is due at time of registration.
