TUESDAYS, JUNE 28th - SEPTEMBER 13th from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 Noon 

We are hosting American Mahjong at the Orleans Country Club! Improve memory, sharpen your mind and make new friends. The benefits of playing Mahjong are numerous! Teams will be assigned as people arrive. The cost per week is $3.00, payable there. We can accommodate 32 players plus any additional players who may have their own game set. WEDNESDAY, JULY 13th, 2022

This popular group will be perform a mix of Andean folklore music and a variety of classic rock and blues. We’ll plan to meet at 5:30 p.m. at the flag pole by the Community National Bank drive-thru in Newport. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and meet us there! THURSDAY, JULY 14th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

We will be hosting a trip meeting for members traveling to Alaska with us. At the meeting, our Collette Vacations representative will cover important details about traveling, review our travel documents and announce our departure times. AUGUST 5-6-7th and 12-13-14th, 2022 

We’re excited to announce the long awaited return of the Borderline Players at the Haskell Opera House! Their summer musical will feature shows at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Matinees will be on Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Community Circle is subsidizing ticket costs for our club members. Discounted $7.00 tickets will be available after July 11th at the Memphremagog Arts Collaborative (MAC) on Main Street in Newport. Be sure to bring your membership card to show proof of membership.

Back by popular demand, line dancing will return in September. We’re in the process of finalizing plans. We’ll have beginner and intermediate classes taught to a mix of oldies, Motown and country music. We’ll meet in the community space at the Church of God located at 295 Crawford Road in Derby. WEDNESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 14th & 21st, 2022 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Country Corner Squares invites Community Circle members to learn to square dance with two free lessons during their “Square Dance Fun Nights!” Following the two lessons, attendees are invited to their weekly square dance evenings. No partner needed and even those with “two left feet” are encouraged to attend! Lessons will take place at the Riverside School located at 30 Lily Pond Road in Lyndonville. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21st at 10:00 a.m. 

Just in time for the annual Medicare Open Enrollment Period, our boot camp will cover all the ins and outs of Medicare, Medicare supplement plans, Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plans. There will also be a question and answer period. Whether you’re brand new to Medicare or would like more information about the supplement plans, this boot camp is for you. We’ll meet in the Community National Bank Community Room. Enter from the Crawford Road entrance off Route 5, park in the back parking lot and follow the sidewalk to the Community Room. You must R.S.V.P for this free event by calling the Community Circle office at 334-7915.

We’re bringing government postal employees on site for “Passport Days” for our members. Apply for a passport or renew your existing one at our Community Circle passport days. We’re scheduling 10 minute appointments and will provide the necessary forms to you in advance. Your photo will be taken and mailed along with your application. No lines or wait times. Bring your documentation and two checks, one for the U.S. Department of State and one for the USPS for the photo and postage fee. They’re not able to accept credit or debit cards.

We’ll meet in the Community Room at Community National Bank in Derby. Turn onto Crawford Road at the traffic lights and drive around and park in the back parking lot. The sidewalk will lead to the Community Room.

We’ll be set up at Community National Bank in Island Pond located at 23 VT Route 105.

• TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27th, 2022 – ST. JOHNSBURY
We’ll be meeting in the multiroom space within the post office building located at 1153 Main Street in St. Johnsbury.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5th, 2022

Join us aboard the M/S Mount Washington for a 2 ½ hour narrated cruise on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. While on board, we’ll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. Afterwards, we’ll return home via the stunning Kancamagus Highway. Voted as one of New England’s prettiest fall foliage drives, the Kanc, as it’s known to locals, will take us up to an elevation of just under 3,000 feet. This trip will include round trip motorcoach transportation, your cruise and a buffet lunch. We’ll leave from the Derby branch at 7:00AM, Barton branch at 7:15 and from the St. Johnsbury branch (Price Chopper) at 7:45AM. The price is $139.00 per person and is due at registration. Join us for two fun-filled days at Foxwoods with two nights at the beautiful Great Cedar Hotel and Tower. Try your luck at the many casinos, enjoy a variety of restaurants, the spa and pool. If shopping is your thing, Foxwoods is also home to the largest Tanger outlets all under one roof. On Thursday evening, a group of us will try our luck at Bingo and you’re welcome to join us. A shuttle will also be available for the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center.

This trip includes round trip bus transportation, two nights hotel and tax and driver gratuity. Prices are as follows: $374.00 per person double occupancy; $344.00 per person triple occupancy, and $524.00 for single occupancy. A $50.00 per person deposit is due at time of booking with final payment due by September 9th. We’ll leave the Community National Bank parking lot in Derby at 10:00 a.m., Barton at 10:15 a.m., and from St. Johnsbury at 10:45 a.m. We’ll stop for lunch along the way. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18th, 2022 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. 

Community Circle members are invited to be part of a group volunteer effort. We’ll be helping the Skills USA students from North Country Union High School with their annual Clothing Drop and Swap. This events allows hundreds of students in the Northeast Kingdom to find quality secondhand apparel for the whole family, for free. This event requires many hands to make it successful and the students organizing the drop and swap are grateful for our help. This event will take place at North Country Union High School. APRIL 17-26th, 2023
