We’ve found an instructor and we plan to offer our first classes in May. The objective of the game is to be the first, by drawing and discarding tiles, to match to a specific hand on the National Mahjong League card. This game can become quite addictive and groups become friends! If you’re interested in learning to play, call to register for our upcoming classes, 802-334-7915. We are hoping to organize some line dancing classes. We’re looking for a line dancing instructor to teach a series of weekly classes. If you, or someone you know, might be interested in instructing please give us a call. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 14th, 2022 at Noon

You’re invited to an elegant Valentine’s Day lunch at the Derby Line Village Inn. Chef Fritz is creating a mouth-watering menu just for us! This will be a three-course plated meal with three entrée options to choose from:
• Flounder rolled with salmon mousse
• Jaeger Chicken
• New York Strip thin sliced medium rare.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16th, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.

Join us for a full moon snowshoe walk led by Parker Castle at Mead Hill Farm, located at 915 Mead Hill in Derby (Holland).
These beautiful trails will take us over rolling hills and through the woods of their sprawling farm. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy hot cocoa and fresh donuts by a roaring fire in the fireplace at the barn. Headlamps are required. Call us to register, 802-334-7915.

TUESDAY, MARCH 1st, 2022

Here’s your chance to learn from one of the best! Spend three hours under Chef Fritz’s direction in his executive kitchen as you prepare a four-course meal for you and your friends.

At 3:00 p.m., guest chefs will begin work with hands-on instruction from Chef Fritz as he teaches them to prepare a four-course meal. Each guest chef can invite up to 5 people to join them at 6:00 p.m. as they sit down with their guests to enjoy this meal. The fee for guest chefs is $65.00 and each guest is $35.00. The meal will include soup and salad, appetizers, the main course and dessert. Call Shelly or Julie to reserve your spot for this exciting evening! Payment due at registration.

THURSDAY, MARCH 17th, 2022 at Noon

Join us for a festive St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the East Side Restaurant, 47 landing Street in Newport. Dena and her team are preparing a St. Patrick’s Day feast just for us in the banquet room. The cost is $35.00, including tax and gratuity and features an appetizer buffet, dessert and your choice of one of the following entrées:
• Traditional Corned Beef Dinner – tender brisket with cipollini onions, green leaf cabbage, carrots and yukon potatoes
• Grilled Lamb Salad – New Zealand lamb marinated and grilled over vinaigrette greens with mint jelly
• Prime Rib of Beef – slow roasted au jus and horseradish cream sauce.

We’re bringing government postal employees on site for a special passport day for our members. Apply for a passport or renew your existing one with ease, no lines or wait times. We’re scheduling 10 minute appointments and will provide the necessary forms to you in advance. Bring your documentation along with checks for the U.S. Department of State and the USPS for photo and postage fee. This event will take place in our CNB Community Room in Derby. We will be hosting a trip meeting for members traveling to Ireland with us. At the meeting, our Collette Vacations representative will cover important details about traveling and review our travel documents. WEDNESDAYS, MAY 11th - JUNE 15th, 2022

Community Circle members are invited back to learn on the beautiful greens at the Orleans Country Club. Each group lesson also includes 1:1 instruction time with Josh.

There are two options to choose from:
• Intermediate Class:
10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
A program designed for players who have an existing golf background and wish to take their game to the next level.

• Beginner Class:
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon
If you’re looking to learn the game or perhaps brush-up after not having been on the course in a while, this clinic is for you. Josh will cover rules, driving, putting and chipping and full swing skills.

THURSDAY, MAY 12th - FRIDAY, MAY 13th, 2022

Following a two-year postponement, the new 25th Anniversary production is coming to Boston and we have great seats in the orchestra center section!

We’ll make a stop for lunch and check into our hotel before arriving at Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Quincy Market around 3:30 p.m. You’ll have time on your own for dinner before heading to the Boch Center/Wang Theatre for our 7:30 p.m. show. We’ll overnight at the Hampton Inn about 30 minutes north of the city. Following breakfast on Friday morning we’ll make our way back to Vermont with a stop in Tilton, NH for lunch on our own.

We’ll depart Derby at 9:30 a.m., Barton at 9:45 a.m., and St. Johnsbury at 10:00 a.m. We plan to be back in Derby on Friday around 2:00 p.m. Our trip includes round trip motorcoach transportation, one night at the Hampton Inn, show ticket, breakfast, and driver gratuity. The rates are: $279.00 per person double occupancy; $260.00 per person triple occupancy; and $355.00 for a single. THURSDAY, JUNE 9th - FRIDAY, JUNE 10th, 2022

Day 1: Fueled by the rushing Ottauquechee River, the turbine-powered glassblowing studio at Simon Pearce Glass in Quechee is the place to watch artisans create functional works of art, and is the first stop on our tour. Then it’s on to Woodstock for lunch on our own before visiting one of Vermont’s finest outdoor history museums, Billings Farm & Museum. Extensive displays are exhibited in 19th century barns and use artifacts, oral histories, and photographs to depict the seasonal round of activities that shaped the lives and culture of rural Vermonters. We’ll then make our way to Manchester, VT where we’ll spend one night at the Hampton Inn and Suites.

Day 2: Following a hot breakfast, we’ll visit the Hildene, the ancestral home of Robert Todd Lincoln. From 1905 to 1975, the 412 acre estate was home to three generations of President Lincoln’s descendants. We will begin with a tour of Robert and Mary’s home where the focus is on bringing their story to life. The 24 room Georgian Revival mansion was built in 1905. The house tour traditionally concludes in the family’s formal garden. An American version of the European parterre, it is the site of the annual “Celebration of Peonies” from late May through mid-June with its 20 varieties of peonies with more than 1000 blooms.

We’ll have a delicious catered lunch (included) to keep us fueled for our afternoon. Visit Robert’s observatory, the 12 miles of walking trails on the grounds, the goat dairy and cheese-making facility. No visit is complete without a stop at the Sunbeam and the Many Voices exhibits, which provide an interesting timeline narrative of the Pullman porters’ story along with the rare opportunity to stroll the exterior of the restored 1888, 72’ Pullman Car. We’ll depart for home by mid-afternoon with a brief stop at the Vermont Country Store.

Price includes round trip motorcoach transportation, admission to Billings Museum, one night hotel and breakfast, admission to the Hildene, lunch and driver gratuity. The price is $249.00 per person double occupancy; $219.00 per person triple occupancy; $209.00 per person quad occupancy; and $329.00 single occupancy. A $50.00 per person deposit is due at registration and the final payment is due by April 20th. We’ll depart from Derby at 8:00 a.m., Barton at 8:15 a.m., and St. Johnsbury at 8:30 a.m.

JULY 25th - AUG 6th, 2022

OCTOBER 13th - 18th, 2022

Based on feedback we received from members, we’re looking at putting together a trip to Washington, D.C. with Collette Vacations. Our trip will include round trip transportation from Derby with round-trip airfare from Boston.

Highlights would include:
• U.S. Capitol Building Tour
• WWII Memorial
• Washington National Cathedral
• Ford’s Theatre
• Arlington National Cemetery
• Mount Vernon
• Old Town Alexandria
• Gadsby’s Tavern
• White House Visitor Center
• The Smithsonian Institution

Five nights at a deluxe hotel, eight meals (5 breakfasts and 3 dinners), baggage handling, transportation via deluxe motorcoach while on tour, applicable sightseeing admissions, services of a professional tour manager, all taxes as well as Collette’s trip insurance which allows you to cancel for ANY reason up until 24 hours prior to departure.

The rates are: $2,599.00 per person, double occupancy; $2,569.00 per person, triple occupancy; and $3,099.00 single occupancy. The deposit is $899.00 per person and the balance is due on August 9th. We’ve postponed this trip for the time-being until we’re able to cross the border with fewer restraints and restrictions. Rest assured, we WILL get there eventually!
