St. Johnsbury VT- Community National Bank recently had the honor of presenting Denzil Whitehill with Community National Bank’s Community Service Award. This award was developed by the bank in 1996 to recognize the “unsung heroes” that make our communities better places to work and live.
Denzil is described as being kind, compassionate, humorous and above all, generous with his time, volunteering to help at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center, at the Barnet Church and for the Kiwanis. Since December of 2002, Denzil has volunteered at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center, Monday through Friday for 6 hours each day. He serves refreshments, makes personal visits and plays cribbage with the residents. He also leads a men’s group twice a month. His dedication can only be considered no less than remarkable.
Community National Bank’s Community Service Award honors and recognizes our recipients by making a $500.00 contribution to a local non-profit organization of the recipient’s choice. Denzil has requested that his donation be made to Northeast Kingdom Youth Services for the benefit of the Summer Central program.
